Meet Our Stars in the Kitchen

Alain Egloff
Head Chef

Alan started working in the industry since he was 19 years young and has been the Head Chef at Mumm's on The Myall since 2005.

Alain loved cooking at home and his family loved his food, so he turned his passion into his profession. Fortunately, being a chef went well with his desire to travel and Alain's worked all around the world, including Canada, Switzerland and South Africa.

Alain's also worked in Adelaide and Tasmania, then moved to Tea Gardens to be closer to his wife’s family. As luck would have it, baking breads, pastries and desserts are Alain's favourite foods to create! Mmmmm...

Alain loves what he does and the industry he's in as something is always changing, new products, new things to learn every day and new challenges.

Markamah ('Maki') Jorgenson
Chef

Maki is Balinese and started her training in Asia and began working when she was only 17.  Maki's worked in Bali, Jakarta and Vietnam before coming to Australia 23 years ago.

Before joining the team at Mumm's on The Myall in 2013, Maki worked in hotels and restaurants and even ran her own business for seven years.

Maki loves living in Australia and meeting new people, especially when there's new things to cook and learn.

Maki's favourite things to cook are Asian inspired dishes, which is why you see a lot of Asian influence in our menu!

FRESH IS BEST

Fresh food is seasonal and different parts of Australia are better at growing different foods.
We're proud to work with Mother Nature and source our foods from the best suppliers Australia-wide, especially local suppliers when we're able!
